Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness that can both relax and refocus you and you don’t always need professional help to reach hypnosis. In fact, it’s a state you’ve probably experienced many times.  When you read a great book, immerse yourself in a movie, or salivate over that amazing food commercial - you will very often be in a state of hypnosis.

WHY DOES HYPNOSIS WORK?

Hypnosis can bypass the conscious mind and reprogram your thoughts at the subconscious level.  Because of this, virtually any issue can be addressed using hypnotherapy techniques to create lasting change.

HOW HYPNOTHERAPY WORKS:   

The Conscious mind is 10% of total mind power and the Subconscious mind is 90%.

Because the conscious mind only represents about 10% of our total mind power, initiating change at the conscious level can be very difficult.  For example, willpower comes from the conscious mind. Have you ever tried affecting real change by applying willpower? It can feel like you are battling yourself, which is why it fails or doesn’t last for so many people. 

The subconscious mind encompasses the other roughly 90% of our total mind power.  This portion of the mind controls the programming that influences virtually everything we do.  Each of us battles blockades in our subconscious that we may not even be aware of. Old beliefs, fears, and the residue of past experiences can create blocks that we can’t seem to overcome.  The reason: If our subconscious blockades are incongruent with our conscious desires, we won’t reach the outcomes we seek.   

Hypnotherapists master techniques that induce deep levels of relaxation, otherwise known as a trance state or healing state.  A person in a deeply focused state is extremely responsive to suggestions, but unlike what you see in the movies, you don’t lose control of what you’re doing and the vast majority of subjects remember what takes place during each session.
